So yesterday was our 4th wedding anniversary.
It started with me barfing so badly I thought my eyeballs were going to be forced out my head and splat into the concoction that was brewing. As it turns out, they remained attached, but it wouldn't matter. The toilet wouldn't flush.
I went for the plunger, and after about 10 minutes, I had the happy realization that the toilet was draining, and the bath tub was filling up. THE WRONG WAY!!
Then I decided it was time for the liquid plumber. After reading the instructions on the bottle I realized I was going to be late for work. great.
Glug, Glug went the more goopy than gel drain cleaner. And I proceeded to wait the allotted amount of time. The drains seemed unimpressed.
I called my husband, and he said he would come home and fix it. After he fought it for a couple of hours. He finally called a plumber. After another hour the plumber arrived and bloop, the drains were running again. But he told DH that it was not a permanent fix, that the line would have to be dug up, and a flapper at the clean-out (in the front yard) would have to be replaced.
So Dinner was canceled and DH began digging up the yard. At 10pm, we could consistently have all our drains. But nothing that would pass code, so tonight and likely most of Saturday will be spent with more digging and hopefully replacing the pipes.
